Yes, I am officially behind, now. I do have all the ornaments ready, it’s just getting them organized and photographed. (And, sometimes finding them, I could only find two of my owls and I know I made more!)

Corrugated Starbucks Owl

Goodness–I believe I used three cup bands, let’s get started, anyway: Cut 3/4″ strips for the body.  Glue and roll with the corrugated side out till they are 1 1/2″ in diameter.  I pushed out the “tummy” while the glue was still wet.  Wrap with a rubber band until the glue dries.  Cut strips for the eyes 1/2″ wide.  Roll those till they are about 1/2″ or a little larger.

Glue the body parts together, hold with a rubber band till the glue is set.  Use scraps for the “eyebrows”.  For the eyes, I found an inexpensive string of beads at Walmart in the craft section.  The beak is a tiny triangle of orange scrapbook paper folded in half and stuck in the space between the eyes.  I wanted to keep my Starbucks theme going, so used the mermaid for the wings.  For this you only need one mermaid cut in half.

The wings were just free-formed cutting the back straight and curving the front portion so they were slightly wider than the body. Then, I used a pin and pulled off some of the print so the corrugated section would show. Glue a ribbon or string in back (Like I haven’t done, yet.) and you’re good to go! (The inspiration for these critters was found on Pinterest, with only a photo, no link to instructions or anything.)

For scale, they are about 2 1/4″ tall.
