Okay, it’s crunch time–Here we go! I thought I was going to finish up the ornaments, but think I left one of them on the counter at home! Today, we have an orb ornament and one of my top favorites, a poinsettia.
This one was made using the standard coffee cup logo, carefully cut out. For this ornament, five were needed. Score carefully right down the middle, attach them side to side with Tacky Glue, using clothespins to hold them together while the glue is drying. (Hint: I glued two at a time and waited for them to dry.)
I tried using hot glue to add glitter to the sides, but you mostly see hot glue, ugh.
Add your choice of toppers and you’re done. (Note to self: Make sure hot glue strings aren’t in photos, double “ugh”.)
Next up, a poinsettia.
This was straight-up created following these YouTube directions. The woman in the video used fabric, we are using Starbucks cups! Using Tim Holtz’s Bigz Tattered Leaves Die, I cut four from plain white cups and nine from red Christmas cups (note: I started out trying to center the mermaid logo, but found it more interesting looking if I cut it off center). I used Holtz’s Mowed Lawn distress pad to color the leaves green. With both the petals and leaves, I used Burlap distress pad to age the edges.
The leaves were hot glued to the “bottom” of a round scrap of card stock. The red petals (yes, I know there aren’t really leaves and petals, but I’m going with it) get glued to the top. It was very simple to just give them a curve between my fingers. Add three pearl beads (from Walmart) and a clip to the back for hanging on the tree, purchased HERE.
Sigh, I really like this one, and it’s such a nice size!
