So. What was in the brick mold from the previous post? Party favors! These are for a bridal shower. The “colors” are burlap, lace and coral. Toward the end of my earlier blogging days, I became interested in die cutting and Tim Holtz’s grunge aesthetic. (I even started up another WP blog, and I would add these there, BUUTTTT, I do NOT remember my user ID.) So, periodically, you’ll may to see some of the inspired creations here. I attempted to use my never-ending craft paper supply and some of them are with it, however, it was really too thin, so I need to double it up, which was just dumb. I ended up purchasing card stock in craft paper-brown. For a tutorial on burlap ribbon, see THIS. Various dies were used, including Holtz’s Tattered Floral and Pillow Box. The “lace” on top of the coral label die cut is from heart shaped paper doilies from the Dollar Store.
They were inspired by this lovely creation from Creature Comforts.
And, you know what a shower means? Gifts! What does a gift need? A tag! Okay, quiz over for the day.
Made with ATC (Artist Trading Cards), trimmed to resemble tags. The heart “wings” are made with pleated tissue tape. All elements are by Tim Holtz.
Inspired by this tag:
One last look at the pillow box party favor:
